What to check on a listing before buying in North Cyprus
Place, type, and the deed shown on the listing. A local lawyer and the land registry are the source for the title check and the current costs.
Start with the listing
Every home has its own address. The page shows the settlement, the district, the type, the rooms, the floor area and the price. A listing with neither a description nor a photo stays out of the search index.
The deed type is on the listing
A listing shows the deed as one of four labels: TRNC title, Turkish title, equivalent, or exchange. The label is a summary. A lawyer practising in North Cyprus should read the actual document before a purchase.
Foreign buyers and costs
Foreign buyers can purchase a home in North Cyprus. The purchase goes through a local lawyer and the land registry. Transfer, stamp and legal fees sit outside the listing price, and the current amounts come from the land registry and the lawyer. This guide does not invent those figures.
